This photo contest has been set up as part of the first virtual Italian Congress of Marine Evolution – EVOLMAR. To participate you can send photographs, underwater and/or produced in the laboratory, which depict or are representative of an aspect of Marine Evolution.

Special prizes or awards are reserved for the best photos in both categories.

Naturalist photographer and consultant, he deals with compatible development of tourism and with national and international conservation projects in Marine Protected Area. Member of the Italian Society of Marine Biology, he is the author of numerous books on marine environments and curator of numerous illustrated guides on the Mediterranean Sea.
Underwater instructor, he has more than 4000 dives all around the world. In 2019 he received the Golden Trident in recognition for his activity from the International Academy of Underwater Sciences and Techniques.

Photographer

Naturalist photographer and passionate about Marine Biology, testimonial for Isotta Housings and collaborator of photographic and scientific magazines, he is a technical diver with experience in scientific and photographic diving in oceans and seas across the world, with a marked preference for the Mediterranean Sea.
His photography's mantra (Love - Learn - Respect - Protect) originates from the belief that taking and sharing photos that enhance the Underwater World arose a Love for the Sea that could naturally convey the desire to Learn about it and, therefore, to Respect and Protect it.

Marine Biologist

Marine biologist specialized in the taxonomy and ecology of benthic marine invertebrates with particular interest in cnidarians and bryozoans. Decades of experience in scientific diving and data collection as well as laboratory analysis using multiple investigation techniques.
Padi divemaster since 2005 and GUE diving since 2020.
